World number one Dinara Safina won her match against the Belarussian head of series number 9 Victoria Azarenka 1-6,6-4,6-2.
Safina lost the first set 1-6, with Azarenka playing a nice and offensive first set. After that, Safina managed to come back in the game and Azarenka started getting nervous throwing her racket in the ground and loosing her play.
Safina won a break point in the beginning of the third set, then another one ending the third set and the match 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. Safina had a 3 match point in the last game.
